This is the logo story part II.
I had a revelation a couple weeks ago while cooking my mothers birthday dinner for her and her closest friends.
I spent most of the day cooking, preparing, decorating, putting all my love and appreciation for her into an all gluten-free, dairy-free, sugar-free, vegetarian dinner. The birthday cake was a honey-sweetened, gluten free, dairy free carrot cake in the shape of a heart.
It was while I was putting the final touches onto this heart-shaped cake when something hit me. Zoned out of everything around me, focused on delicately placing each raspberry along the rim of the cake, I was taken back in time to the moment I was sitting in high school Chemistry class doodling around with signs and numeric symbols trying to create and figure out a shape—a logo—a crest, that encompassed my whole being.
The moment I figured it out, the moment I realized that my birthday creates the shape of a heart when I place the symbol of an Aries above the Roman numeral five, a deep and powerful revelation took over me. I knew the depths of what I had just created, the fact that my symbol/logo manifested as a heart, was a discovery that would take time to fully reveal itself to me.
As I’m standing in the kitchen looking at this cake and the dinner that was created from my heart, I realized that although I already understand that the energy, the feelings, and thoughts we experience while cooking is translated into the food we produce, I was creating a ‘Heart to Table’ dinner.
From the minute I decided to cook this meal for my mother’s birthday, I did it with love. She and her friends weren’t just eating a gluten-free, dairy-free, sugar-free, vegetarian dinner; they were eating a meal filled with high vibrational, positive, love-filled energy.
Everything is energy, and just the way we know how someone very close to us is feeling just by looking at them sometimes, we unconsciously know when we’ve eaten an amazing meal, because we feel it deeply nourishing us. Whether it’s a meal at a restaurant where the chef put the utmost attention to detail and presentation, treating it like a piece of art for us to appreciate, or whether it’s a home cooked meal, we are also consuming the energy that was put into creating it.
So there I was, standing in my ‘aha-moment’ of the dots finally connecting….ten years later. Standing Light is a labor of love; it’s my contribution to our human experience through trying to help light each and every one of us up, creating a more light-filled life and world. Love is the epitome of our existence; love and light are co-existing realities. It’s what nourishes me, and it’s the approach through which I work and create. Standing Light is my heart. Everything I dream of continuing to create through Standing Light is and always will be through…..
On my mothers’ birthday, my new concept – Heart to Table, was born. This is only the beginning of many deliciously curated Heart To Table dinners I will be hosting.
With light filled love, Leyla
